VN Translator (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a translation service via a Chrome Extension and website at vntranslator.me (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. General Disclaimer

VN Translator is an independent tool. We are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with VNG Corporation (Zalo), Google, or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. The official Zalo website can be found at zalo.me.

2. User Accounts

To access the Service, you must create an account using Google Authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Subscription & Payments (Stripe)

  • Billing: Services are billed on a subscription basis (“Subscription”). You will be billed in advance on a recurring and periodic basis (monthly or annually).
  • Payment Processing: All payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card details.
  • Auto-Renewal: Your Subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your Subscription at any time via your account dashboard. Your access to paid features will continue until the end of the current billing period.

4. Refund Policy (Australian Consumer Law)

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

  • General Policy: Due to the digital nature of the Service (instant access), we generally do not offer refunds for “change of mind.”
  • Major Failures: If the Service has a major failure (e.g., it stops working completely for an extended period), you are entitled to a replacement or refund.
  • Trial Periods: If we offer a free trial, you will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. Once charged, the standard refund policy applies.

5. Service Availability & “Breakage”

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Our Service relies on the structure of third-party websites (Zalo Web). If Zalo updates their website code (DOM), our extension may temporarily break.

  • We commit to making reasonable efforts to fix these breakages quickly.
  • However, we are not liable for any business loss, missed messages, or downtime caused by third-party updates.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations.
  • Send spam or harass other users.
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the extension.
  • Note: We reserve the right to terminate your account without refund if you violate these terms.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • VN Translator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
  • Financial Cap: Our total liability for any claims under these Terms, including for any implied warranties, is limited to the amount you paid us to use the Service (or, if we choose, to supplying you the Service again).

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of VN Translator. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our code or branding without prior written consent.

9. Privacy & Data Handling

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We do not store your chat logs. Translations are transient and disappear when your session ends.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your State, e.g., New South Wales], Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
