VN Translator (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website (vntranslator.me) and our Chrome Extension (the “Service”).

1. The “No-Log” Policy (Chat Data)

We want to be crystal clear about how we handle your translations:

  • We do NOT store your chats. All translation processing is transient.
  • Pass-Through Only: When you translate a message, the text is sent directly to our AI provider for processing and returned immediately to your browser.
  • No Retention: We do not save, log, or archive any incoming messages or composed replies on our servers.
  • Session-Based: Once you close your browser tab, all translation data displayed by our extension is cleared from your local session.

2. Information We Collect

A. Account Information

To provide access to the Service, we use Google Authentication (powered by Replit). When you create an account, we collect and store:

  • Email Address: Used to identify your account and manage your subscription.
  • User ID: A unique identifier associated with your Google account.

B. User Settings

We store your local configuration preferences to improve your experience, such as:

  • Your preferred interface language.
  • Translation tone settings (e.g., Professional vs. Casual).

C. Website & Usage Data (Analytics)

We use Google Analytics on our website (vntranslator.me) to understand traffic and usage patterns. This may collect:

  • IP address and browser type.
  • Pages visited and time spent on the site.
  • Note: We do not use analytics to track the content of your private conversations.

D. Customer Support

If you contact us via our support form, we collect and store:

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Message Content This information is used solely to respond to your inquiries and resolve technical issues.

3. Payment Information

We use Stripe to process all payments.

  • We do not store your credit card information. All sensitive financial data is handled directly by Stripe’s secure infrastructure.
  • We only store your Subscription Status (e.g., Active, Cancelled, Past Due) and a Stripe Customer ID to verify your access to premium features.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service (verifying your login).
  • To manage your subscription and billing status.
  • To provide customer support.
  • To improve our website functionality via anonymous analytics.

5. Third-Party Services

We may share data with trusted third-party service providers solely for the purpose of operating the Service:

  • AI Provider: To generate translations (text is processed but not stored for model training by us).
  • Google Analytics: For website traffic analysis.
  • Stripe: For payment processing.
  • Replit: For authentication infrastructure.

6. Disclaimer Regarding Zalo

VN Translator is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Zalo (VNG Corporation).

  • Our extension operates strictly within your browser’s local session (DOM manipulation).
  • We do not have direct access to your Zalo account credentials, password, or friend list.
  • We do not use the Zalo API to send or receive messages.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information (Email, Subscription status). However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top.
